Writing, Research anD Development
I have had the great pleasure to work with many exciting theatre artists over the years within collaborative and commissioned environments. I am drawn to striking imagery utilising the practical application of writing and devising methodologies; Lecoq, Yat Malgram, Clown, Greek Chorus, Viewpoints & Suzuki. I seek out the FUNNY, radical, political and subversive. With degrees in classical theatre and creative narrative I consider storytelling to be key in creating connections between audience and performers.
Writing for theatre can look a bit like:
-artists in a ring, steaming cups of coffee in hand, telling tales.
-scribbling reams of words and images at home under lamp, bleary eyed and happy
- on yer feet, mid-flo, watching, listening, physicalising; holding ya guts because you're laughing or serious and meditative because together you've found a moment of incomparable beauty.
